課程概述

This course deals with contemporary evolutionary biology that is designed for undergraduate level students who major in Life Sciences and have finished their introductory courses, such as general biology and genetics. The lectures encompass the history of evolution, evolutionary processes, adaptation, and evolution as an explanatory framework at levels of biological organization ranging from genomes to ecological communities. Throughout, the text emphasizes the interplay between theory and empirical tests of hypotheses, thus acquainting students with the process of science. The goals of this course are to cover general principles of evolutionary biology and to help students learn how to think like evolutionary biologists.
